Former IBM Canada HQ Ready To Transform Into 3-Tower Condominium Advancement
Next week, the Toronto Conservation Board will think about suggestions to designate IBM Canadas former HQ at 1150 Eglinton East as a heritage home.
Its likewise proposed that the former head office should allow building of 3 condo towers on top, which becomes part of the sprawling master-planned Crosstown community.

Developed by well-known Canadian designer John B. Parkin, the 223,337 square foot, three-storey building is dressed in rustic brick, and develops visual interest by varying in height from one to four levels. The building complex is made up of a central, three-storey block with 5 wings that was completed in 1967 and extended in 1970-71.

The proposed advancement from Aspen Ridge Homes would maintain almost 50% of the former IBM Canada HQ constructing walls and incorporate them into the podium for the new advancement. The maintained walls would deal with Eglinton Avenue.
The north facade will be removed and changed with a new building that works with the kept parts of the former head office structure.
Three brand-new towers are also proposed to be constructed on top of the former headquarters, which will form a three-storey base building.
